About You:
I am currently participating in football where I am getting back into training/playing after breaking my leg in a match at the beginning of the season. I am now training for football twice a week and going to a gym class twice a week.
Have you used a Base Level product similar to Nike Pro before?
I have used a similar product to the Nike Pro shorts, they are the Skins shorts. I found this product quite good but when comparing them to the Nike Pro shorts, I feel the Skins shorts were too long and the shape/support of the Nike Pro product is much better. Also the stitching was quite large and annoying on the Skins product, if you have ever seen the Skins you will know what I mean. You can actually feel that the Nike Pro are a better fit from the moment you put them on, the stitching
feels seamless.
First impressions of product:
The look of the product is great; the shaping of the top fits really well. They are so comfortable as well, which I found surprising as I expected such a tight fitting top (which I’m not use to wearing) to be uncomfortable or annoying.
WEEK ONE
Football Training – this was one of the first training sessions back from my injured leg. I was having problems with lower back tightness and hamstring tightness the previous week. Although the tightness in both areas did not completely disappear, the products definitely helped in keeping these areas warmer to reduce the tightness experienced.
WEEK TWO
Gym Class – Found that even though I had an extra layer on while working out, I didn’t feel like I was sweating as much as I usually do when I take the class. I am guessing I was but the top was helping with sweat evaporation.
Football Training – training contained a lot of running and it was quite a warm night (compared to a normal winter night) and I thought I would be to hot wearing the top under the footy jumper but again there was no problem with overheating or over sweating.
WEEK THREE
I don’t think I have anything new to speak of in terms of the performance of the product. The night of football training this week was freezing and having a tight under layer definitely helped me stay warmer than I normally am. I have found my leg muscles, mostly my hamstrings are feeling much better after exercise, as is my lower back. This may be because I am getting use to the exercise load after getting back into it, but I would say with the Nike Pro helping keeping these areas warmer during exercise and therefore increasing blood flow to the areas would also have helped in reducing soreness after exercise.
Overall Summary
I am very glad I trialed the Nike Pro products. Knowing what I now know about them I would definitely go out and buy this product. I actually did recommend the Nike Pro to one of my mates and he already had the same top I was given and the long Nike Pro bottoms. He loves them as well and can’t get over how comfortable they are. The only similar product I have used are the Skins shorts. The major difference I found was in the stitching and the shape/fit, which are both superior in the Nike Pro product.
